
GRAHAM COHEN
baroque violin & viola
Bio:
Graham Cohen earned his BFA and M.Mus degrees in viola performance at The Juilliard School, and was a composition major at Juilliard Pre-College. He performs on modern and baroque violin and viola, viola d’amore, Hardanger fiddle, and has studied Québécois and Cape Breton fiddling. Graham performed with Les Violons Du Roy as part of their inaugural Programme Émergence, participating in two concerts that received a top prize in the Conseil Québécois de la musique’s 27th Prix Opus. He is currently principal viola and viola coach for the NJ Intergenerational Orchestra, maintains a private studio in South Orange, NJ, and performs regularly with the Smithsonian Academy Orchestra, Symphony in C, Juilliard’s Fiddle Club, RELIC Ensemble, La Fiocco, Ensemble Fantasque, and the Hunterdon Symphony, et al. He attended festivals such as Yellow Barn’s Young Artists Program, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix.
